Dan is the son of Jacob-Israel and Bilhah. Dan is one of the 12 tribes of Israel.
Genesis 5 And Bilhah conceived and
bore Jacob a son. 6 Then Rachel said, "God has judged me, and has also
heard my voice and given me a son." Therefore she called his name Dan.
Jacob-Israel’s blessing to Dan:
Genesis 49:16 "Dan shall judge
his people as one of the tribes of Israel. 17 Dan shall be a serpent in the
way, a viper by the path, that bites the horse's heels so that his rider falls
backward.
